Craft: Kenneth Rexroth
Kenneth Rexroth (1905-1982) said: “There is no place for a poet in American society. No place at all for any kind of poet at all.” He was part of the poetry scene in San Francisco sometimes called the “San Francisco Renaissance,” Time magazine labeled him “Father of the Beats,” and when a journalist asked him if he was influenced by the Beats, Rexroth said: “An entomologist is not a bug!”
