Kay Ryan's "Turtle" deploys musicality and unexpected rhymes, building a short poem begging to be read again and again. And so I did, quickly, with greater pleasure each time.
In a completely different vein, "TO AN ALDABRAN TORTOISE, DEAD AT 250" by Joseph Harrison is a fact-filled epic tale that encouraged me to consider unusual word choices and alliteration as it informs the reader both directly and allusively.
Who'd have thought these shelled creatures could prompt a thirty minute dance with words on the page?
Bravo to Joe Harrison for that litany of luminaries who lived during Adwaitya's life span!
