The paid-subscriber version of The Sharpener includes weekly installments of craft pieces, approaches to writing problems, topics in contemporary publishing for writers, and biographical features on poets I consider important.
As I read the Robert Desnos piece, I wished I was fluent in French and could compare/contrast the original with this translation. It is beautiful in English. I imagine it shimmers in French.
I’m amazed by your curation of Sharpeners (like this one) where I notice themes within a theme, and a theme that builds with each poem…cold, hills, landscape, heart, “The word that has not been said.”
