I am not a goblin! 

The prime rule of late capitalism and the creed of the Republican Party is that the in-group is protected by the law, but not bound by the law and the out-group is bound by the law, but not protected by the law. 

The out-groups don’t need to be told this. They feel it in their bodies, with every stretch and every breath. The in-group may feel threatened, but it is a manifestation of their imaginations, and the out-groups suffer. 

In a relentless thresher, the out-groups become an endless threat because the nostalgic past (read: AGAIN in Make America Great Again) requires an enemy. Cultural and artistic production is the battlefield where these binds and protections are expressed and felt.
