A gorgeous and so accurate meditation on Jenn's body of work. I feel so blessed to have met her and heard her read her work. She was kind, irreverent, and brilliant! And yes, we need to lean into her poems and her courage both on and off the page in these days. Thank you, for these reminders.

Thank you for this warm and thoughtful remembrance through the poetry of Jennifer Martelli. Here are two potential errors you might want to correct: in the paragraph that starts "The Queen of Queens" you might have meant to say "the 2020's" instead of "2025." Also in the poem questions for the electorate, you might have intended to include images of all of the quatrains. Small things you might want to correct. Or not. Thank you again for your beautiful poetic elegy. (Carla Schwartz)

I didn’t know Martinelli’s work, but saw the many grieving post of about her on Facebook. I can see from your writing that you deeply admired her work, and I am so very grateful that you shared so much of her work today. I am sorry I didn’t know about her work before, but I will be buying her books. Thanks to you.

An aside, but as an 11 year old, I lived about a mile from where Kitty G was murdered. I was shocked to learn far more recently, apparently the story was inaccurate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Kitty_Genovese

"When the floor itself is unstable, and the walls around us seem shaky—either because of political threats, physical threats, or the difficulty of finding poetry among it all—Martelli showed how dexterity with language and decency in spirit can be a guidepost. Her grace is right there, in all the poems, and as such, she herself is right there as well." Thank you for this incredible piece on Jennifer Martelli, Sean Singer. ❤
