A great convo between one fine poet and another. Of course you’d want to interview Jane! Your questions beautifully tapped what I imagine as her poet’s true psyche, Sean. This quote: “…poetry is a way of engaging with the consciousness of another person, or at least an aspect or impression of it.” And then her insights about how meaning eludes the poet’s own mind even in the reach to complete the poem, I think speak to how illusory consciousness itself is.
Much to learn here about reading and writing across disciplines, and the reasons to make poetry a slow, slow art. And hear hear her plug for affordable healthcare!
I love that poem & Jane's insights. Thank you!
Thank you, Sarah!
What a good idea! More interviews! And now to go looking for more Jane Huffman
Thanks so much for reading!
Affordable healthcare!!!!
